Dark Mean — Lullaby
Despite being a) free, in exchange for your email address, and b) just four tracks, “frankencottage” might just be my “album” of the year. Each of the tracks are so exquisitely perfect, I just can’t wait to see what they do next. You have no excuse whatsoever for not downloading it now.

Airlock
Neat little app which will unlock your Mac whenever your iPhone or iPod Touch is near it. Nice idea.

When can I use...
An excellent resource for compatibility information for features in HTML5, CSS3, SVG and other upcoming web technologies in the various leading browsers.

Following on from the theme of the last post, and a photo I posted the other day, I thought I’d make a wallpaper set out of a few photos I took of an all-white Christmas tree I came across in Ambleside in Cumbria recently. It’s especially for those of you with two (or three, if you’re especially well endowed) displays, although the three separate images are obviously interchangeable too. Again, they’re available in widescreen sizes up to 2560 by 1440 pixels. There’s one for your iTelephone too, if you’re that way inclined.
Download away and enjoy.

Since it’s December and all, here’s a nice Christmassy wallpaper to spruce up that lifeless desktop of yours, available in wide-aspect sizes from 1440x900 to 2560x1440. It’s a tweaked version of this photo I posted earlier. You can download it here.

Another beautiful screenprint, this time from DKNG, for Josh Ritter’s recent Los Angeles show.

I don’t understand why you don’t just adopt the Webkit rendering engine and call it a day. Seriously, it’s open source, and it runs circles around IE.

SoundSource
The tiny little application I’ve always wanted without even realising it. Rogue Amoeba’s SoundSource allows quick switching of audio out sources from the menubar, and - best of all - automatically detects when headphones are connected to Mac Pros and switches sources accordingly. Brilliant.

One of ten superb prints by Simon Page designed to celebrate The International Year of Astronomy 2009. Every one is stunning. (Hat tip, Carl.)

BetterTouchTool
Provides additional gesture shortcuts for the Magic Mouse and MacBooks. I’m trying this for three finger tap for Exposé immediately.

Theme Park Maps
A pretty comprehensive collection of theme park maps. I had a mild obsession with theme parks - well, roller-coasters at any rate - when I was a kid, as I’m sure most do, so looking at the ones I’d been to was a nice bit of nostalgia.

“Swedish Guys Mid-Century Modern Home”, photographed by The 10 cent Designer. I’m in love.

“beijing, 798”, by Flickr’s spiky247. I’m not sure exactly what this is supposed to mean, but I like it. Immensely.
